CPL Pacific in Full Swing ? $comment_count ?>
That's right, the first CPL event in Australia is under way right at this moment. For full coverage watch Challenge-AU closely. The full crew is on site reporting live. If you didn't catch it before, Fatal1ty has traveled to the event to hold the mantle for all Q3 players for one more tournament. Other international challengers from Korea (Elan, Butcher, Janus), Russia (Polosatiy), Sweden (Xorgal) and Hong Kong ([GL]Raver) signed up but appear not to have made it. The CS trend is also taking hold in Oz though, as evidenced by CS getting the majority of the prize money for the event.

There are already some reports things aren't going very smoothly, especially an incident invloving a CS clan using a cheat, but since most everyone cheats in CS anyway, they weren't kicked out of the tourney. Since this IS in Australia, there is very little danger of the participants opting for Malaysian-style rules if things don't go their way, but rumours are that the Australian-rules are just as damaging, scarring some of the participants (emotionally) for life. I want to see both hands at all times buddy!

All kidding aside, most reports are that the lan is being run very well since Challenge's own Greyseer lent a hand and that Australians are fully committed to putting themselves on the Professional Gaming map.

Elan, Janus, Sasuia and Butcher were the Koreans who attended; Fatal1ty and Polosatiy both attended; Xorgal couldn't find a sponsor to pay for the trip. I do not believe Raver attended.

We also had 2 members of CPL Latin-America attend the event :)

Doh, Pardon me! I guess I reached that conclusion when I didn't see their names in the initial brackets. Or I thought I didn't.
