Even though Christmas has just been upon us, and the dreaded millenium lerks around the corner, we have still been working on bringing you guys some new articles to satisfy your appetite for new Quakeworld skills. Check out our Straight Strafe Jumping guide written by ZzJohNzZ.
Also, we've reviewed the Kombat Teams 2.10 server mod for Quakeworld. It's becoming more and more popular all the time and is a neccesity for anyone that wants to set up a Deathmatch server of their own. Have a look at that here.
In the near future you can expect to see a new-look 3AC. It won't be drastically different, but it will look a lot funkier than it does now. We'll probably archive all this news rubbish too, which will help on your loading times! That will probably come about a week into 2000 since we have a surprising amount of html here! A little before that we may have another custom map review up... or they may come at the same time - who knows?!

We've updated (well 'done-up' more accurately) our links section. It's now better organised and looks a bit neater, as well as having the b0rken links removed.
We also have another trick demo on DM2, a nice little camping spot. It's pretty tricky to get to the first couple of times, but after a bit of practice anyone should be able to get it down. No rocket's required!!

ZzJohNzZ has managed to get his filthy mits on Quake 3 where as Hot Cakes is sitting at home without enough RAM, HD space, CPU power and 3D acceleration to run either that or Unreal Touney. Just to rub it in, John thought he would do a comparison of the two games which you can all read here.
It includes round-ups of the weapons, the bots, the levels and of course the 1on1 playability of the games amongst other things - so go read it!!

Another player profile of of [DR] Punisher from the USA is waiting for you in the articles section. We also have an in depth review of Unreal Tournament written by ZzJohNzZ. It's all pretty positive. It's a shame that there wasn't an instant weapon change option as there were so many others. There are a couple of other small niggles, but overall the game rox! So go have a look!

A real treat's in store for all who visit today (or any other time after today for that matter) as we have three, yes - THREE reviews for you. For a while now we've been talking amongst ourselves about reviewing a map by Gandhi. The problem was in choosing which to do out of Naked3, Naked4 and Duel1. We have come to a solution - to review all of them!! It's an all in one Triple-Ghandi review!! Go take a look!! Basically they're the most damned playable maps in the world (for anyone that hasn't met them!) and well worth checking out ASAP!
In other news, it appears that id could be up to no good with regards to Quake3. Check out this article. Basically the jist of it is that whilst we're playing Q3A online, id can look at what kind of set up we've got. This basically sux in our opinion (and that of the guy who wrote this article). It's just plain invasion of privacy and is completely immoral. I really don't want some guy - even if they are from id - looking at my computer just for a tid-bit of market research. FFS, they're one of the most successful computer game companies in the world and they can't be bothered to do research legitimately?! Anyway, I'll save the rest of the ranting to the author of the article....

We have managed (or rather John has) to do the trick jump mentioned in the update below in normal quake. This jump just defies all logic, but is really useful. If you spawn in the cave in the blue/green armour room it means you could be able to go through the teleport, pick up the RL and MH and still get to the red armour before an opponent who spawned in the cave by the GL!! Anyway enough of my babbling, go download it!
There's more where that came from in the demos section....

A new review of an old map. Check out Ultraviolence by Escher. This map has firmly established itself as one of the QW player's favourite custom levels. If you haven't seen it yet where the hell have you been!! It's up there with the all-time greats such as Aerowalk and Blood Run, and is an essential download! Not only does it play well, but it'll also run on your 486 DX4-100. Well, maybe.
Also, we have some comments on the Quake3 demotest. Although this was written by ZzJohNzZ, both authors of this site feel the same way and there are some very serious issues that need to be addressed if it's to be anywhere near as playable as Quakeworld. Let's just hope that people move over to it because it's a good game (in the end) and not because it's the next big thing.
And last on the list for tonight is a new dm6 trick demo - one for all you psycho axe-murdering, bunny-hopping, rocket jumping mother f.... maybe not. We've been trying to do it in Quake but can't quite manage it so in the end we had to resort to recording it in Quakeworld. Anyway, it's cool - go peek! We'd also like to say "congrats you jammy git!" to Mirage who won the uk.duel cup.
'Till next time!

Three things for this update - we spoil you guys really, don't we?
First off we've been arguing again over whether Gray Liotta by Jvox is actually any good or not. If you're new around here, we have a section (over on the left there) called disagreements. Here's where we throw maps that one of us wants to review but the other doesn't. Well, go and have a look at the latest disagreement.
Next on the list is a player profile of Def from the US. Another one of them l33t players that'll whip yo ass good 'n' proper. Apart from being a bit of a head-case at Quake, he also seems to dabble in a bit of philosophy.... Head over to the articles section for that and other player profiles.
Also in the articles section is a Preview of the Razer Boomslang 1000 gaming mouse. We, or rather ZzJohNzZ has had the priviledge of taking a look at a pre-release version of the mouse, and it looks like it's shaping up to be an awesome product....
Oh yeah, and we've also added some new links! 'TIll next time.....

Ok so we lied! We've actaully done another review. But fear not, you'll all get to see us argue about a map soon enough! Just be patient and hold in there, ok?
Anyway, the review. It's of The Vomitorium by ZTN. Chiseled to perfection! Despite the fact that this was made around the time of DaPak, it can still comfortably hold it's own with the great maps of recent months. Anyway we liked it so much, we threw it in our Top 5 at #4.
Go on then, go have a look!

Another product review in our articles section for you all is our latest addition. Take a peek at the slick Everglide Large Attack mouse-pad. As Halloween approaches and people become more evil 'n' stuff, we thought we'd join in and have an earth-shattering argument, or at least a disagreement or two - look out for them soon..... in our disgareements section (funnily enough!).

We've got another review for you people to spooge all over. This time it's of One Man Army by Peej. It's basically a single atriumed piece that plays like a classic, or more specifically DM4 without lava!
The texturing isn't really appealing, but it makes up for it in every other area. Bags of fun for all the family! Well, what are you waiting for... go check it out!!!
There's also a demo of a couple of tricks on the map available from our custom trick demos section.

Here's another profile for all you Quake-hedz. Check out XP-Spookie of the USA. There really can't be many people out there that haven't heard of Xtreme Predjudice can there!!
You can also check out this quite stunning demo of him playing on dm6....
We'll be back with more soon!!
?

Ok! On with the show! We've got a new review of Zed by Vondur and it certainly is a cracker! A really cool custom texture set and over a fluid triple-atriumed layout makes for a great level. You really shouldn't be without this in your collection!! It's also made it into our top 5 maps section at number 4!
Also, for more King Stud demos check out this page: http://www2.go-concepts.com/~lpkshome/quakedemodloads.html. It seems he's been building quite a fan-base!

Yo Fanz!! We've updated with a player profile of Diesel from the (UK) and a new demo of King Stud. You can get that from his profile. His old one now resides at Challenge-AU under the nick-name of Jerk. Also check out Diesel's site at www.gibworld.com/dies!!
At the moment we've got a review in the works and it should be up within the next day or two (with any luck). We'll have to see if our Elves will work overtime.... out comes the cattle prod!
?

A new review is the order of the day. Check out the awesome Ergonomic Aftermath by Cheshire. If you haven't seen it already, I'd seriously recommend checking it out - you won't have seen anything quite like this little beauty! It squeesed it's way into our Top 5 section, just knocking Eternal Dismemberment Complex of it's perch!
Oh yeah, we've also updated our links page!

ZzJohNzZ and Hot Cakes have never been defeated in a duel by Timber, Kane, Thresh, Lakerman_of_SC, Sectopod, or Xenon.? (Even as a 2 man team, SK, DR, DC, Z, and 9 haven't been able to take them down) Thus we thought we would be the perfect people to review 1v1 levels and give out strategies on how to play these 1v1 levels like the masters!
So, without further ado head over to our reviews section to see our write up of Retinal's Dissonance, Headshot's Dead Bodies Everywhere, Mr Fribbles' & De Venator's Powder Keg, Eternal Dismemberment Complex by Tyrann, Blood Run by ZTN and Aerowalk by Preacher. All are astonishing levels, each one different from the next. More than that though, they all rock!
On top of that we've got some great player profiles of RupTurE, Bulldozer, and King Stud from the USA and Silver from the UK. Look out for these guys - they'll kick your butt!
Come back for regular visits as this site will be updated very often indeed!! Expect more reviews, more articles and generally more cool Quake related stuff!
