Sounds like a lecture I've heard many many times in regards to my singing career. The bottom line is, education is the most important asset in life.
Take my good old friend Nita for instance. Bet most of you have not heard of her before. At form 3, she was a recording artiste. She had the talent, no doubt but she was far from being the next Siti Nurhaliza. Not because she doesnt sing as well, but it's just not what the market wants. She thought that she could make it as a pop star, we all thought she could. So where is she now? Singing in some dinghy old pub in Melaka or something..well that's what I last heard anyways. It was disappointing. She stopped school in Form 4, left home and was promised an exciting career in a new place. So much for the excitement.
And that's in the music industry, something much bigger and older (not to mention, glamorous) than gaming. What are the chances of one making it big in pro-gaming, in MALAYSIA? Even worse, CS!? I'm not trying to diss CS but it's more of a team thing, then chances of you making it big on your own, without your team is near nothing.
hehe, i am not trying to say the WHOLE team should ditch school and become pro-gamers. Man, if all aspiring garage bands have that attitude, we are going to have a drop-out infested country.
Seriously, whatever you do in life, education is something we can all fall back on. There is always a market for educated ppl, but a market for pro-gammers (or even musicians or artists for that matter)? It's really weak.
