I was writing up a little something, and I accidentally pressed enter, and what do you know... I probably posted a half finished update on my column. gg. Anyways…

So... What has Mr. evolve been up to? I attended a lan last weekend in Tampa bay Florida, (wastelan.com). The lan was held in a HUGE dome called the "Sundome", its more like a huge indoor stadium. I had to get a hotel unfortunately because I live so far away, but the lan was an overall success. The lan was set on a Saturday, and I arrived around 10:00 a.m., and began to setup and play a little quake3 on the net with a T1 connect! w00t! Yes I am a hpb, it was my first time playing on the net with a low ping.

As I began to warm-up, I noticed other people coming in and setting up their leet computers, some with neon lights and clear cases. Very kewl stuff. After I was warm, I got off the net and searched for some local lan servers, and there were only 2 Quake 3 servers. Both of them were lame ffa servers :P Not many people were playing quake3 there at all, only a handful out of around 200 people. Most of the people were playing half-life and other half-life mods like counterstrike. So basically I just went back on IRC and played net.

When I got on IRC, I saw my friend with his name like this, "ExCluSiVe-LAN". I then asked him what lan he was at, and he said he was at wastelan, so I told him to stand up and he was right behind me :P I was pretty excited that at least one person I knew was at this lan, so we basically played each other the whole time, jumping on random dm, and ra3 servers.

As the lan proceeded through the day people were getting hungry and eventually some pizza guy came in with a cart, and a stack of pizza boxes about 7 feet tall, no joke. After everyone rushed up and got in a line about 2 miles long, they started a raffle. NO! I didn't win anything… lol.

Soon after a few more games with exclusive, he grew bored and left. Oh did I mention that it was freezing in there? Oh my... I was about 40 degrees in that building, stadium, whatever its called lol.

I soon started to grow bored my self, playing for 10+ hours, so I called my transportation, and right before they arrived, wastelan held another small raffle and my number was called!!! 450! Oh yah! I won a $49.99 game, called Star Trek, New Worlds... Boy was I excited :/ I could just smell ebay when they handed it to me. They then made me stand in front of a display holding this new ebay item (hehe...) for a picture, which they will upload, in their photo gallery at, wastelan.com. Why was it a success? BECAUSE I HAD A T1 CONNECT! YAH! And because I won a great item that will be placed on ebay immediately :) I also enjoyed the fast downloading, which enabled me to get all those extra big files that I couldn't bare to download with my slow 56k modem.

Hey everyone, it's evolve here. I'm the new columnist at interfaced, and I’m going to try and provide you with some interesting reading. I will basically be writing about anything related to quake3, and gaming in general. I will also be bringing up some controversial topics as they develop, and have a few rants here, and there. :)
