More goodies! W00p! First up we have a new review of Qurnel's Frag. Another map which will make dm4 enthusiasts feel right at home. It does play differently though, being a little less ownable than id's map. Perhaps a good thing for those that are put off by The Bad Place's brutality factor.

Pathetic Newbie drops in again with another article. Ever wanted to set up your own QuakeWorld server? Well go have a read of Pathetic Newbie's experiences in trying to set one up on Linux. Definitely one for a giggle (without being too cruel of course!)

We here at 3AC have been meaning to put together a guide to Quake for newbies. Ironically, just as Quake3 has hit the shelves more and more new players can be seen playing Quakeworld. God knows what this means, but it can only be a good thing for us Quake-hedz. Anyway, back to the point. Instead of one of us writing thsi guide and giving away insights into our battle hardened experience (HA!) Pathetic Newbie has kindly given us an article detailling what he thinks every newbie should know. The article he has written for us is much more insightful than anything we could have done as it comes from the point of view of a newbie. If you're new to this FPS-Quake stuff and want a quick-fix to skill (to some extent...) go give it a look!

On top of that, we have our first Quakeworld profile from mainland Europe. ParadokS gives us his vital statistics, including a lovely picture of himself and the nuttiest looking config in the world - ever! Go take a look at that here!

Oh yeah, we've archived all the stuff before the last three updates. If you want to see the old news, you can click on the numbers in the toolbar (2 being the most recent).

As promised we have a new review. This ones of Hidden Agenda by the one and only Headshot. In saying that name, many people will already know the quality of the map. It's a real thinkers map and we recommend you have a look whatever style of gameplay you prefer, since reflex-shooting also comes in handy!

We've also added a link to our sidebar for our brand-spanking-new message board!! Go and post your opinions about this site, one on one quake, custom maps or just general banter!

We're also getting a bit excited about the prospect of someone making a new version of their map for 3AC! Keep an eye out for tha one in the near future as we're sure to review it!

Now if we were to say we've looked closely at Brown Stuff you might think we here at 3AC have far too much free time on our hands. However once you realise that Brown Stuff is actually a totally rockin' atrium map that plays a sweet one on one game, you may think again. Of course you may not if you aren't a fan of atrium maps, but we love it anyway! So, go have a look at that here!

Oh yeah, we now have a 3AC message board!! Post you comments and have a chat about one on one gaming here! We'll put a link in the sidebar by the next update.

Not much else has gone on here although you can expect another review mid-week (we hope).

1 April 2000

A new review and a profile are up for grabs today. We take a look at an all time classic -Spine v2 by Headshot. Coincidentally, sCream, our profilee loves the map too. Hopefully we'll have some more reviews for you in the near future also.

The Freshteam have a new site, at a new domain also. You can check that out at http://www.freshteam.co.uk
They'll also be releasing a new Quake duel map soon (next week sometime) called Chocolate Biscuit, apparently made by some guy called
Hot Cakes.

Cya next time.
