Aggressor by Tyrann Download

One thing unique to the map Aggressor that seperates it from the basic atrium maps is the fact that it is divided into three atriums. One atrium has 2 levels, one has 3 and the other has 4. The four level atrium is quite interesting. At the bottom is a red armor and a teleporter that leads to the third level with a green armor. Above the red armor are some long winding steps that lead to the second level and a rocket launcher. Since the steps follow along the walls, one could hide underneath them and out of sight while waiting for the red armor. If you are caught waiting there you are trapped as there is only one way in. Hide there at your own risk. The second level is quite large and leads to the other two atriums. The side of the second level has a small slope on its edge. This looks nice but also serves another function. On the top level of the red armor atrium sits a mega health. One could rocket jump from the second level to the third and from the third to the top but this is time consuming. The quick way is to use the slope on the second level to propel your self a bit higher than normal and then rocket jump off the wall onto the megahealth platform. Its tricky, risky, dificult, but kind of fun to try. See
this demo for exactly how to do it. The fourth level has a small platform with a megahealth on it. If you dont want to rocket jump up there, there is a very small walkway that leads to the megahealth. Its so small that one might overlook it when first playing the map. Its also quite risky to use this walkway to the megahealth because you must stay very close to a wall or else you will fall off. Someone could fire at you from down below and easily knock you off if they see you going for that extra 100 health. The red armor atrium is where lots of action will take place.

Aggressor has a similar appearance to the infamous Aerowalk except with a few extra textures and updated architecture. The Variation in lighting is also something to note. Whilst this look may not be to everybody's taste, it has been applied flawlessly!

The yellow armor atrium has only two levels. On the bottom it contains a yellow armor and a grenade launcher. At the bottom you can walk to the other 2 atriums. The other atrium is a 3 level affair with a green armor at the bottom and a teleporter to the third level that contains a lightning gun. The second level contains a rocket launcher. Everything is nicely spaced, and things are quite balanced. Playing deathmatch 1 or 3 is a lot of fun and its difficult to overwhelm your opponent or control all the items.

We've already compared this map's look with Aerowalk, but it also has a vertical element too - and more so! The action's divided into three atriums on this map though. The large amount of steps make fight-fight s very angular - always involving a vertical element.

The textures look quite nice. The map looks a bit like aerowalk. Things are quite easy to see and its quite well lit. Where the map surpasses aerowalk in looks is the subtle lighting patterns and some neat custom textures. The map is well lit so that your enemy has no chance of hiding in the dark. There are however subtle circular lighting patterns throughout the map. They really make the map look nice. The action is so fast and vertical that during the duel you may not at first appreciate it, but the lighting is excellent looking. There are also a few custom textures. When you see a texture under an armor or weapon, you will notice that it has a blue square underneath it. This square looks like it has lighting on it that is moving. The teleporters also look great. They are triangular in shape and have small triangle lights on the sides of them. These triangles change color from bright red to dark red in a pattern. A very nice touch to the map.

Final Verdict.
The map looks great, plays great, and has some of the best lighting of any custom map. The map is really balanced and provides lots of tactical gameplay. "If this level was a super-star it would be Will Smith. It's tall, it's good looking, and it's multi-faceted!" (hmmmm...... ;)
